What is a Gynecologist ?
A "Gyne" (variations: Gynae, Gyno, Obgyn) is a commonly used short name for a specialist in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynaecology ( O&G or OBGYN ). Gynecologists and obstetricians are focused on women’s health. They are consulted for low fertility treatment including IVF and artificial insemination, pregnancy and childbirth, removal of fibroids and ovarian cysts, menopause, hormone replacement therapy or HRT and endometriosis.

Gynecologist Qualifications
To practise as a gynecologist, one must pass examinations set by a college which oversees postgraduate training in the field. Many gynaecologists train for examinations set by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) .
